Every Equation, Import Template, Macro has its home in IDEA
Brian Element
Hi,
When you create a Managed Project or an External Project using 'Create' in IDEA a closer look at the folders created will reveal an interesting group of sub-folders within the folders created -
- Source Files
- Import Definitions
- Exports
- Macros
- Custom Functions
- Equations
- Other
- Results
- SmartAnalyzer
These sub-folders are the cozy homes for various family members of IDEA - metaphorically.
So as an illustration if you import a flat file (delimited file) into IDEA. The import process gets captured in a *.jpm file which gets saved under Import Definitions.
When you export a report to say Microsoft Excel 2007-10 the excel file will reside in Exports.
So IDEA v 9 is beautifully crafted to ensure an intuitive allocation of each family member to its respective home.
This keeps the house in order and well disciplined.
Kind Regards
Jairam
