The Report Reader is a powerful yet convenient tool to convert complex Print Report, Text and PDF Files to IDEA for intended analysis.
At the end of the use of the Report Reader, we have the benefit of saving the process applied for conversion as a Template (jpm File). The Template allows for convenient re-import of Print Report, Text and PDF Files for different review periods and / or locations so long as the file is in the same format as the original file from which the template was created.
Now a remarkable feature offering by CasWare Canada in the Report Reader is the facility to seamlessly edit the Template without having to record the same again from scratch. Let’s say you have missed out a key field to capture from the base layer or the header layer or you wish to exclude an unwanted field. It can be seamlessly done using the Edit Template feature in the Report Reader - Layer Manager and Edit Layer.
Tomorrow we will explore the multi-line feature in the Report Reader which allows the user to capture multi-lines in any given field of a Print, Text or PDF report.
