While undertaking a review of the Revenue Billing cycle of any entity, the IDEA User would certainly like to identify specific dates on which Bills have not been raised to Customers by the entity. The best way to identify missed Billing Dates is to apply Gap Detection on the Bill Date field in the underlying data within IDEA.
Now if one applies Gap Detection straight away on the Bill Date field, IDEA will also report Saturday, Sundays and Public Holidays as missing Bill Dates. These are false positives and need to be managed correctly within IDEA using Gap Detection - 'Ignore weekends' and 'Ignore holidays'.
'Ignore weekends' and 'Ignore holidays' allow the IDEA User to exclude the default Saturday, Sunday weekend as well as set Public Holidays - 'Set Holidays'.
