Good day everyone, I am just curious how everyone heard about the site, was it through a google search or was some other place.  I haven't been really promoting the site that much so I am just curious where everyone is hearing about it from?

IDEA has posted a new promo vidoe for IDEA.  I have posted a link on the site for it.

I am interested in hearing what videos would be helpful to create on the site.  So please post any suggestions and I will see what I can do it creating them.

I have just posted a video that shows you a bit of what Smart Analyzer is.  Smart Analyzer is now standard in IDEA V9 and higher.  With Smart Analyzer you now have a marketplace in which to download IDEA "apps" which can perform different types of analysis.  So far there are 7 items in the marketplace:

I just posted a link to three videos developed by Audimation Services Inc, the US partner of Caseware IDEA.  The three videos talk about perform IDEA testing on a GL, AR and inventory audit.  You can find the vidoes here.  The vidoes were done in version 8.5

Caseware has posted a series of videos on youtube talking about Georgia Tech's experience with purchase card fraud.  It goes from finding out about the fraud, to looking at data analyitics to continous monitoring with Caseware monitor.  I have link the four videos to the site.

I had someone join recently and they posted spam, advertisements for payday loans, on the site.  I have removed the topics and deleted their account.  If you post spam on the site be ready for the posts to be deleted along with your account.  If you want to post items that are IDEA, data analytics related that is great but I have a 0 tolerance for spam.

I thought I would start a discussion on what we would like to see in the next version of IDEA now that version 9 is out.  Please feel free to add to the list.

Two things for me is the Group Records option.  You create a group and once you click Grouping Off you have to recreate the group again, be nice to have a list of groups that you have already created so you don't have to recreate them each time.  Also be fun to be able to be able to save transactions in one or more groupings into another database.  Basically hooking this up with the Key Value Extraction.

You might have noticed that there is a new menu item on the main page.  As IDEA V9 is starting to roll out I have started to create a series of how to videos (more are in the works) on doing different types of analysis in IDEA.  I am also planning on creating videos on how to use the different scripts that are hosted on the site.  The videos are being shared with IDEA and I believe they may be put up on youtube eventually or on the IDEA site.  So if anyone has any ideas on training videos they would like to see let me know and I will try and add them.

As V9 should be coming out soon, I thought I would start a thread where we can discuss our likes and dislikes of the new version of IDEA.
