I have a PDF file that IDEA initially cannot read because of some security controls that are built into the file, but the control is not a password (it is because the file was already digitally signed). We have found that we can convert this original PDF file to Word and then back to PDF and IDEA can then read the converted PDF file. My question is can I automate the process in an IDEA script of opening the PDF file in Word and then converting back to PDF and then importing the file into IDEA?Let me know and thanks in advance for your help!Mike

I'm having a similar issue which may have the same fix. 1. I have monthly PDFs for bank statements. If I merge them into one PDFs and then try to import them into Report Reader, it says that the document is protected by a password. The same thing occurs when I extract pages from a PDF. There must be a way around this...
Hi,
Try using CutePDF writer to recreate the PDF file before importing into IDEA. This usually resolves PDF issues.
Actually it s a bug in IDEA. And it was fixed in IDEA 10.3.
