Questions on Importing

Multi-line Floating Traps?

Thanks again in advance for the help, all.
I've got a PDF that I need to import that is a form letter with user-selected check boxes. I had no problem building a standard layer that worked on my example file, but I thought it would be better to build it with floating traps since I'm not optimistic that each of the 2000 letters I need to read will be recognized identically by the report reader.

XML import with typedefinition

Hello everyone,
i'm trying to import an XML File with the correct data types (Date,Number...).The Import works but the datecolumn does not get recognized.Only when i set the type in idea to date and set a dateformat manually.
Is there any way to automate this?I also have the XSD File but IDEA does not import XSD Files only XRDF as far as i know.In the sample XRDF Files are no format attributes only fieldnames and context.Does anyone know what the <XML_FIELD_CONTEXT> is for?
I really don't understand why i can export an XSD File but not import it.

Default Table selected

Hello,
I am trying to use a SQL Query with an OBDC connection to call data from a particular DB. Whenever I reach to the step where I have to enter the query by clicking on the advanced tab, I paste the SQL Query and then as I click 'OK',  the query disappears, and the default table query reappears. I cannot remember if there's a way where we could avoid the default table selection.
Please refer to the following images as step 1 and 2.
step 2 is actually the reappearing of the default selected table.
Please help.

A Couple of PDF Importing Questions

I have to convert a lot of the same PDFs. I will get 1 to work and make sure to save the template so I can use it on the others. However I've run into an issue. It looks like each and every PDF has slightly different positioning by a couple of characters. Therefore when I use a trap in one, it may be blank/not match location exactly in the next such as this:
PDF1: Name
 PDF2:   Name

importing date formatted column names

Hey there.
I'm trying to import a data table from sql server which has at least 42 columns. These columns represent the date of the last of 36 months. Now every column title has its name like this 2015-02-28,...,2018-08-31.
In my first run I just paste Select * from table in Idea to import the data, all the columns got imported, but the 42 columns was titled Column1, Column2,..., Column42.
So I tried to import the data again whith this query:

Converting Difficult Formatted PDF

I'm having trouble converting a PDF with more difficult formatting. It is formatted similar to below for example. I can grab the personal info first line easily. I just need the Number total for both before tax and after tax as seperate columns. The issue is there is nothing different in either line to differentiate them.  So I've grabbed the Number Total using a blank trap in the start of the line + a number trap where there is always number. This highlights both totals. However when you import this, it only takes the first total and ignores the second.

Importing an Excel File

Hi
I am just starting out on my IDEA scripting journey and was wondering if anyone could help me with some script for importing an Excel file.  I am creating a macro which will be used by a colleague and I would like the macro to give the user the abilty to select the file that they wish to import.  The import script in the history explicitly states the working folder and file name so this will not work when the file name changes.
I hope this makes sense!
Thanks

Importing Subheaders in a print report file

Hi
What would you do to achieve bringing in print reports that have multilevel subheader. In the example below there's a sub header will fill in all blanks lines below it should the "use value from previous record" option is selected. Picking you brain on this matter. Any suggestion is much appreciated.
